37. All That Moves Us, A Conversation with Pediatric Brain Surgeon Dr. Jay Wellons

Dr. Jay Wellons is the author of the beautiful memoir All That Moves Us: A Pediatric Neurosurgeon, His Young Patients, and Their Stories of Grace and Resilience. He is the chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

This episode was recorded just days before the tragic shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville. Dr. Wellons’ voice is relied upon by many in the medical community here in Nashville for so many issues that affect the health of our children. Guns have become the number one cause of death in children and teens in the US. I hope this senseless tragedy inspires us to take steps forward to prevent this from continuing to happen. Reinstate the ban on assault weapons.

This episode with Dr. Wellons will indeed move you and inspire you. I am so honored that he joined me for this conversation. I highly encourage you to read All That Moves Us.
